In 2012, Lena and I experienced personal family tragedy that forever impacted our lives. This prompted us to help others experience the same support and understanding we received. It took a few years, but with the support of both our large family and an even larger supportive network, we were able to establish ourselves. The name “Handsdown The Best” came about when my son made a screen-printed t-shirt for Father’s Day, featuring his hand with the words “hands down greatest dad.” This moment stuck with me and became the inspiration for our website’s name. We often meet individuals facing difficult challenges and in desperate need of support and a listening ear. Life itself is already a challenge, but it becomes even more difficult for those with disabilities or in certain age groups. Seeing people improve their quality of life through our help brings us immense joy. Let’s remember to appreciate every day and be grateful for each breath we take.
